A growing number of intellectuals and
students aim to restore the relation
of ideas between Hellenism and the early
origins of Christianity. They maintain
that the Judaic roots of Christianity
were heavily influenced by Hellenistic
and neo-Platonic thought. But since the
rise of the Ottoman Empire, there has
been a persistent global campaign to
dissociate Christianity from its
Hellenistic sources. Instead, much
misleading publicity has been given to so-called
Babylonian and Persian influences on
Judaic and Christian culture.
